Aloha.
I’m Ed Lee, the Director here at the Institute of Intensive English.
I was born in Seoul, South Korea, and raised in Canada since I was six years old, but I believe Hawaii has always been my spiritual home. I am now a permanent resident of the United States.
I grew up in a business family in Toronto, and worked there as a magazine editor, before discovering the ESL field on a trip back to Korea in 1997. I immediately loved it. Since then I’ve been involved in almost every aspect of English language teaching. I’ve worked in ESL in Korea, Canada, and now Hawaii. I have had the privilege of serving students from the world, from Japan to Brazil, and countries in between.
My free time is often spent near the ocean, and with my family. I enjoy water sports and reading, especially Eastern philosophy.
I love Hawaii because it’s a beautiful meeting point between East and West. I hope it will be the meeting point between me and you.
I look forward to meeting you here at IIE.
