Refunds
- Cancellations received within 72 hours of application or due to student visa denial (Written documentation must be received by the school) will receive a full refund including the Registration Fee
- Registration fees will not be refunded on cancellations received after 72 hours of application
- Tuition refunds are given on a weekly prorated basis until up to 50% of the program is completed. Cancellations received after 50% or more of the program is completed are not eligible for a refund.
- There are no partial week refunds. All cancellations must be made by Friday at 1:00 pm to be processed for the following week.
- Students that are registered through agents may have signed contracts through those agents and may have separate cancellation penalties, no-refund policies, or home-country-only conditions. All agent-student contract conditions will be confirmed by IIE prior to issuing a refund.
- Refunds will be issued 30 days from the cancellation date.
- All cancellations will be calculated at the rate charged for the number of weeks actually completed.
- Activity fees for special programs, will not be refunded. Refunds are on tuition only.
- There is a cancellation fee ($75) for all cancellations.
Special Programs Refunds
(including, but not limited to: Hawaiian English Adventures, J-STEP & K-STEP programs)
- Cancellations at least 30 days before program start date will be refunded in full (minus registration fee and cancellation fee)
- Cancellation less than 30 days before program start date will receive a tuition refund only. No refunds on the Activity Fee.
- Tuition refunds will follow the usual policies as stated above.
Homestay Refunds
- Cancellations at least 28 days prior to arrival will not be assessed a cancellation charge. However, if the student has received the homestay placement -- the homestay placement fee will not be refunded.
- Cancellations 14-27 days before check-in (Hawaiian local time) will be assessed a $200 cancellation penalty.
- Cancellations 7-13 days before check-in (Hawaiian local time) will be assessed a $400 cancellation penalty.
- Cancellations that are received lass than 7 days prior to check-in (Hawaiian local time) will be assessed a $900 cancellation penalty or the total homestay amount, which ever is less.
- Cancellations after check-in must be submitted with a 4 week notice.
- The cancellation penalty for after check-in cancellation is 10% of the remaining homestay contract.
- There are no partial week cancellations.
- Airport transfer fees will be refunded in full if cancellation is made more than 7 days prior to arrival or departure. No refunds will be issued for cancellations 7 days or less prior to arrival or departure.
Hotel & Condominium Refunds
- There is no refund on the Accommodation Placement fee.
- Condominium & hotel refunds are calculated according to the policies of the individual rental establishment.
- There will be no refund on any deposit collected in the event of cancellation once the accommodation has been booked.
- Airport transfer fees will be refunded in full if cancellation is made more than 7 days prior to arrival or departure. No refunds will be issued for cancellations 7 days or less prior to arrival or departure.
Manoa House – Shared Student House
- Cancellations more than 3 days prior to the scheduled activity will be refunded in full.
- No refunds will be issued for cancellations received 3 days or less prior to the scheduled activity.
- Activities canceled by the school will be refunded in full.
All Refunds Require Thirty (30) Days to Process
