Academic Track
This is a direct college/university entry program (no TOEFL score required) designed for students planning to study in American university. Students in the IIE Hawaii’s Intensive English Program can qualify for Academic Track by enrolling in the 4-term (16 week) Academic English course where they learn the reading and writing skills essential for success in American college.
Upon successful completion of Academic English, along with the Core and Grammar courses, students may enter directly into designated colleges and universities in Hawaii, and take college credit courses, without a TOEFL score requirement. Students must be in levels 500-600 to be considered for entry into Academic Track. (400 level students must be approved in advance for entry.)
IIE Hawaii is proud to have TOEFL-waiver agreements with the following internationally-recognized institutions in Hawaii: University of Hawaii's Kapiolani Community College (KCC) and Leeward Community College (LCC), and Chaminade University.
