Academic Track
University Bridge, 20 or 28 hours / wk
IIE Hawaii is your fast track to a certificate or degree from an American college or university. Students are conditionally accepted into American college, without a TOEFL requirement, upon entering our unique university bridge program, Academic Track.
Students in General English (IEP or SIEP) can qualify for Academic Track by taking the Academic English course as a Skill 2 Elective for 4 terms (16 weeks). Academic English teaches the reading and writing skills essential for success in American college. After successful completion of Academic English, and the Core and Grammar courses, students may enter directly into designated colleges and universities in Hawaii, and take college credit courses, without a TOEFL score requirement.
IIE Hawaii is proud to have university-bridge TOEFL-waiver agreements with the following internationally-recognized institutions in Hawaii: University of Hawaii's Kapiolani Community College (KCC) and Leeward Community College (LCC), and Chaminade University.
*Students must be in levels 500-600 to be considered for entry into Academic Track. (Students in 400 level must be approved in advance for entry.)
